Situated at the foot of Lyulin Mountain, Bankya is a small town, 17 km west of Sofia on the international highway Belgrade-Sofia-Kulata.

Bankya is well known as a rehabilitation balneologist center with natural spring water – a popular destination for recreational and/or wellness spa procedures.

For a long time now Bankya has been looked upon as one of the more elite satellite towns of Sofia with many old and new high-end housing estates.
